Skilled Work Regional (Subclass 191) Permanent Residency Visa

The Subclass 191 is a visa that will commence on 16th November 2022.

It is a visa for people who have lived, worked and studied in a designated regional area within Australia.

Once you are granted this visa pathway then you can stay permanently, work and study anywhere in Australia. You will be able to sponsor eligible relatives for permanent residence and can apply for Australian citizenship within 12 months of holding this visa (subject to other eligibility criteria).

To be eligible, you must:

  • hold an eligible visa, either a subclass 494 or 491
  • have lived for at least three years and have a taxable income at or above a specific income threshold for at least three years
  • have complied with the conditions of the eligible visa you hold or have held.

As this visa does not commence until November 2022, we will provide more information when it becomes available.
